Alpine Splendor

Location: Wyoming, Medicine Bow Mountains, Snowy Range

The name Snowy Range lept out at me from the map! I had to go! My campsite was surrounmded by quartzite mountains (up to 12,000'high), meadows and alpine forests. The air was crisp, clean (no firesmoke) and crowds could generally be avoided by hiking early. I spotted this view from my campsite one day and painted it the next, in the shade of a small grouping of fir trees.
